Recently retired, making friends, turnout routine and enjoying life simply "as a horse" after earning over 260k on the track. This guy is all class, loves to have a job, is a people pleaser and he wants to have a purpose! He is absolutely beautiful. Good bone, naturally thick, has a GIANT foot on him and all around just one of those built to last type horses. Has the basic stiffness of an older and larger racehorse coming off the track, nothing that turnout wont help and with the turnout he has already had it has made a huge difference just to get out of his stall daily and move around and do his own thing.
Very low maintenance. No vices. Transitioned right into a small herd with a gelding and pony and was kind, well mannered, and not bossy at all. Has also been out with an older broodmare with no issue.
Currently in front shoes. We were going to put his first ride on him today but by the time we got to him it was 102 with the heat index. We were literally soaked and coulsnt keep horses from sweating even for pictures, so decided to do an arena video for now.
He has NOT been restarted, but his owner did take him home during his down seasons racing and ride him around his farm in a western saddle.
He has been well loved and cared for. It is very easy to see.
I think he is going to easily transition into whatever direction you ask him to. Just a very smart, willing, kind guy that will be happy having a job and a purpose again.
