This mare has been a broodmare since 2013, and the way she let us tack her right up and stood flawlessly at the mounting block was quite impressive. She is a KIND a willing mare... has been nothing but easy to work with on the the ground as well. Gets along with other horses, is equally fine on her own. She is a very easy keeper and has been barefoot foe over 10 years.
First ride She was a little rusty at the bend and with balance but was more than willing to work on it... bc of this we did NOT canter her. She went into the canter and picked up her leads both ways, BUT we could tell with how tight my arena was She just wasnt balanced enough for the turns and it was too muddy to take her outside.
Lovely trot and has a gorgeous uphill canter. She isnt in a hurry to go anywhere, you can use all the leg you want on her and she pretty much maintains speed and doesnt want to run off with you or anything like that.
No vices or behavioral issues. Hard to see in the photos but she does have a flaxen mane.
She has lost a few foals (cause unknown) and is not being rehomed as a broodmare, we figure it is time to do something else and as good as she is undersaddle I think she is going to really enjoy this new part of her life.
Once again, we did NOT force her to canter bc she didnt seem ready.. not because she cant.. so no, there isnt a video of the canter.
