Rico was broke late as a 4yr old and starred late at the races. No particular reason besides his size as a baby and how heavy he was, they wanted to allow his bones to develop.
Has made close to 60k but has run threw his competitive conditions and his connections do not travel to lower tracks and do not want to sell him to someone at a lower track where he will race once a week. Truth is, he isnt very fast and he doesnt really enjoy being a racehorse. He is naturally just very laid back, calm, and collected. Would be a fantastic amateur friendly restart.. tons of hunter potential and could be a very nice fox hunter type as well!
He is barefoot, we treated a little thrush and he just recovered from an abscess .. he is more comfortable in front shoes on a rougher terrain and will have them put back on if he is still here next week when the farrier comes.
No vices. Trailers great, stands tied, great manners. Not reactive... he is literally the definition of "Joe Cool" even in new environments.
He has been sitting at his connections far the past few months out of work and is ready for a job!
He will shine up like a new penny!!
