I rehomed this mare 2 years ago straight off the track and she recently came back to my facility to be rehomed due to her owners life circumstances (that have absolutely nothing to do with the horse)
Upfront, she has been turned out 24/7 for about a year. That being said she has kept fantastic weight on, shes barefoot with amazing feet, and shes great in a herd. Very much an easy keeper.
The downside, she needs a little foundation work with just bending and getting fit and back into a routine (easy enough and comes along pretty quick)
She is more than willing to work for you. Very kind horse. Very good manners. She is the first to walk straight up to you in the field and will walk straight up to you in the arena. Loves grooming, has great manners, ties, loads and trailers well. Quiet in a stall and very clean. Absolutely NO vices. Retired sound from racing and has still had NO soundness issues.
Good bone, naturally just a tank of a mare! Her natural trot is a 10 with no help and someone is going to get a project that has the potential to be so fancy!
🌟We did NOT canter her under saddle for her first ride back. She wasnt completely balanced around the narrow turns and she was so good and so willing we figured a few more days of trot rides and basic bending and she will be more than ready.
