Delta is a class act and the true definition of a war horse with 68 lifetime starts and earnings of over 700k. He is all class and it shows in everything he does.
Retired in 2019 and went home to his owners who made him a very casual trail horse. Due to just not having enough time, life happening, babies, and etc he had just been sitting in a pasture for a long period and they did not think it was fair to him as he retired sound and loves to have a job.
He came to us and settled in very quickly with zero hesitation of his new surroundings. Acclimated to herds here fine and again, has been a total class act since day one. He is gentle, he is kind, and he is a horse I would 100% allow my children to groom and play around with. We've been working on cleaning him up and putting some rides on him and he's shown from ride one he is a very easy and honest ride. I will say he is very right dominant and the canter (not uncommon for a racehorse) and does take a lot of leg and an over bend right now to get into the left lead, however, he does get it and he will keep it. This is something that will come with time and a lot of bending and isn't something abnormal for any racehorse.. especially ones that have had a long track career.
He has no vices. He has no behavioral issues. Again, he retired sound and he has no history of injury after racing.. he's just been a very simple family trail horse that they've pulled out of the field to enjoy.
He has been barefoot for years, he was comfortable barefoot. I have just put front shoes on him bc this is MY preference for a horse in work, but I am sure he would be more than okay barefoot.
He's had an exceptional race career and he deserves a long term home where he is safe, loved, and appreciated.
Kind enough to be a lesson horse or have multiple purposes and go in multiple directions.
