Bo has been with us for a little over a year and has done a little bit of everything from being a kids loose ring walk/trot horse to going around novice XC. He is a point a shoot type that does not refuse, will jump anything in front of him without any hesitation. Loves water, will do banks, ditches, and coffins no problem. He can be a very handy and athletic guy that could be great in the jumper ring as well.
Prefers a soft hand and good seat with a steady leg, it's just his more favorable type ride. We have spent a lot of time breaking habits that most likely happened when being used as a lesson horse (like being on his forehand)
He does enjoy flat work and will work all day for you. Leg yields, counter canters, picks up leads from a walk or a trot. Tons of bending work has been done with him.
Has a change, it is auto if he is going forward, otherwise if you're riding him slower you do have to know how to ask for it.
Videos show 2 very different riders.
Rider 1 is working on her confidence to jumps, along with her distances, and doesn't ask for the change just brings him back down to a trot so she doesn't overwhelm herself.
Rider 2 actively Eventing and it was her first time ever meeting him and hopping on him for a video. She rides more forward with more confidence.
Bo is a horse that is always going to take care of you going into fences, even if you find yourself in a pickle with a distance or are learning to count your strides.
He gets along well in a mixed herd, has no bad habits or vices (just a major peppermint addiction)
Easy keeper, stays fat and he has been barefoot with NO issue for years.
Trail rides alone or with a group. Seems to be the most relaxed in large and open areas. Bo's superpower is a Tornado could be tearing off the roof of your arena and he will not flinch or bat an eye and will stay focused at the job he is doing. It's impressive how non spooky he is at very scary situations.
Looking for his perfect person. He has spent a lot of time with us and we definitely want to see him find his happy ending!
